Sanctuary Point is an Australian town located in New South Wales and falls under the local government area of the City of Shoalhaven. The city lies on the lovely shores of St Georges Basin and is situated approximately 25 kilometres south of Nowra and 200 kilometres south of Sydney's capital city.

Sanctuary Point's localities are Tomerong, Worrowing Heights, Old Erowal Bay, Erowal Bay, and St Georges Basin. The town recorded a population of 7,225 at the 2016 census. Some of the Sanctuary Point community organisations include Bay and Basin Community Resources, established in 1990. The mission of this non-profit NGO was to implement community services in and around the local area. Besides, it is a significant community services provider in the Shoalhaven area.

History of Sanctuary Point The area was initially known as Redhead Point. On 24 December 1969, it received its official name of Sanctuary Point.

Facilities in Sanctuary Point Organisations like Bay and Basin Respite Day Care Service, Carers Support Group, Shoalhaven Neighbour Aid, Bay and Basin Community Resources Aged Care Centre, and Shoalhaven Dementia Respite Service offer aged care services in and around the locality.

An active organisation, Bay and Basin Leisure Centre opened in September 2001, hosts several community events to raise awareness of various social issues, like child abuse. Later in July 2006, the organisation Bay and Basin Community Resources received a community radio broadcast license permanently, and since then, it actively took part in outside broadcast programmes.

St Georges Basin The place has a sequence of beautiful beaches where you can pass through the grassy parks and even plan a fishing expedition.

Basin Foreshore Walk It is a 40-minute walking track along with numerous stretches of the boardwalk. The walking trail starts from Palm Beach Reserve and stretches up to Paradise Beach Reserve, crossing Macleans Point.

Paradise Beach Reserve Here, you can relax by the waterside and even participate in various water activities. The best attraction of the place is its gorgeous sunset views as Paradise Beach faces west.
