Dr Shinn Yeung is a highly skilled surgeon with a keen interest in the surgical management of colorectal liver metastases, laparoscopic hernia repair, and robotic HPB surgery. Graduating from the University of Queensland with a degree in general surgery, Dr Yeung completed his residency at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and attained fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2000.
Having returned from England where he received further specialist training in hepatobiliary surgery, Dr Yeung continued his training in liver transplantation and advanced hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery in Brisbane. In 2004, he was appointed as a consultant surgeon in hepatobiliary and liver transplant surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he has since played a crucial role in the care of patients.
His achievements have been duly acknowledged, and he was awarded fellowship by the American College of Surgeons in 2010. Dr Yeung is widely regarded as a leading authority in robotic surgery, with his groundbreaking work including the first ever robotic single-site cholecystectomy in Australia in 2014, and the first robotic pancreatectomy in 2013.
