Dr Ruwei Xu

Meet Mr. Ruwei Xu, a skilled General Surgeon with vast experience in various surgical procedures. He completed his training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons at Monash Health in 2016. Afterward, he honed his skills as a General Surgical Fellow at Ballarat Base Hospital for 12 months in 2017. In 2018, he was appointed as a General Surgeon at Latrobe Regional Hospital. He specialises in gastrointestinal, breast, thyroid, and abdominal wall hernia procedures that he performs through both open and laparoscopic approaches. He also carries out minor surgical procedures for skin cancer treatment, vasectomy, carpal tunnel syndrome, and varicose veins.

Apart from his clinical experience, Mr. Xu has an excellent track record of basic and clinical research, obtaining a Master's degree from the University of Melbourne and a PhD from Monash University. He currently focuses on researching the surgical management of abdominal wall hernias.
