Dr Fay Chao

Dr Fay Chao is an experienced and highly trained urogynaecologist based in Melbourne, offering private consultations, surgeries, and urodynamic studies at Waverley Private Hospital. She graduated with MBBS (Hons) from Monash University in 1999 and completed her specialist Obstetric and Gynaecology training in Melbourne, obtaining FRANZCOG in 2009. She further pursued a three-year accredited subspecialty training in urogynaecology and earned the Certificate of Urogynaecology (CU) from RANZCOG in 2012.

During her subspecialty training at Monash Health and Mercy Hospital for Women, Dr Fay Chao gained valuable experience in managing pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. She is skilled in pelvic reconstructive surgery, including vaginal, open, laparoscopic, and robotic procedures, with or without the use of mesh. She has expertise in performing and interpreting urodynamics and various types of sling procedures for the management of stress urinary incontinence.

Dr Fay Chao is dedicated to training and education. She actively serves as the training supervisor for RANZCOG trainees at Monash Health and provides perceptorship training to RANZCOG fellows, specialists, and trainees in urogynaecological procedures. Additionally, she is involved in research with both Urogynaecology units at Monash Health and Mercy Hospital for Women.
