Mr Niyaz Naqash

Mr Niyaz Naqash is a highly respected surgeon who has dedicated his career to the practice of cardiothoracic surgery. He completed his Masters of General Surgery at Nagpur University in 1990 and a Masters of Thoracic Surgery at Bombay University in 1993 before moving to Australia in 1994. There, he began his work at St Vincent’s Hospital and pursued further studies in cardiothoracic surgery. Since then, he has gone on to make numerous contributions to the field of surgery and has become a sought-after instructor for Australian and New Zealand Surgical Skills – Education and Training Course.

In 2009, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons after completing his fellowship in Acute General Surgery at Monash Health. Niyaz has been a dedicated mentor to the medical community, regularly teaching postgraduate and undergraduate students at Monash Health. He has extensive experience in thoracic surgery and is particularly interested in laparoscopic surgery, such as hernia repair, cholecystectomy, single-port surgery, and colorectal surgery. He is also skilled in general laparoscopic surgery and endoscopy.
