Professor Paul Sved is a consultant Urological Surgeon who works at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Strathfield Private Hospital in Australia. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney, where he teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students and conducts cancer research. Prof Sved is a renowned expert in robotically assisted urological surgery in the country.
Prof Sved earned honours degrees in Science and Medicine from the University of Sydney. He completed his Residency and General Surgical training at Royal North Shore Hospital before receiving the esteemed Gordon Craig Fellowship in Urology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the University of Sydney, where he served as a fellow in urology. Upon receiving a Fellowship in Urology from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, he attained a Master of Medicine degree in Prostate Cancer at the University of Sydney.
In 2002, Prof Sved was awarded the Best Graduating NSW Urology Registrar. He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of various urological illnesses such as prostate cancer, bladder cancer, and kidney cancer (including laparoscopic kidney surgery and kidney-sparing surgery), kidney stones disease, benign enlargement of the prostate, renal cell carcinoma, and testicular cancer.
