Dr Laura Wang

With expertise in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular reconstruction, Dr. Laura Wang is a specialist surgeon who received her BS (Med) MBBS from the University of New South Wales. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and holds a PhD in thyroid cancer prognosis and management. Her surgical training comprises extensive hands-on experience at multiple regional centers, along with General Surgery training at Campbelltown Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, Prince Alfred Hospital, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Auburn Hospital. As a junior registrar, she developed an ardent interest in Endocrine, Head and Neck surgery, which sailed her through two intense fellowships at the globally recognized Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Here, she further developed her operative and clinical expertise in treating tumors of the Head and Neck. Dr. Wang boasts over 30 peer-reviewed publications in the field of Head and Neck oncology, making her a leader in her domain. She has been a frequent speaker at national and international conferences in addition to her senior lecturer appointment at the University of Sydney. Primarily based in Strathfield, Dr. Wang also operates out of Liverpool and Nepean. Her knowledge base extends across a broad spectrum of Head and Neck care, offering assistance in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, skin cancer surgery, parotid and submandibular gland surgery, neck lymph node surgery, oral cavity and jaw cancer surgery, and Head and Neck reconstruction. She also holds public hospital appointments at Liverpool and Nepean.
