Dr Rahuram Sivasubramaniam

Dr Ram Sivasubramaniam is an experienced ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon based in Sydney, Australia. He graduated with honours from the University of New South Wales and completed his specialist training in ENT surgery through the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. During his training, he worked at major teaching hospitals in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory and was mentored by leading surgeons in the field.

To further his expertise in rhinology and endoscopic skull base surgery, Ram completed observerships at several leading universities in the United States, including Stanford University in California and Northwestern University in Chicago. He then undertook a post-graduate fellowship in rhinology and endoscopic anterior skull base surgery at Auckland, where he gained extensive experience in complex and revision sinus surgeries, sinonasal tumour surgeries, anterior skull base surgeries, and rhinoplasty surgeries.

Ram has also completed a Masters in Surgery through the University of Sydney and has undertaken numerous research projects, resulting in several peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters in prominent textbooks in the field of rhinology. Additionally, he has spoken at international conferences and taught on rhinology dissection courses across Australia and New Zealand.

As an active Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and member of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, the American Rhinologic Society, and the European Rhinologic Society, Ram is dedicated to teaching and mentoring medical students and fellow trainee surgeons. He is also committed to providing customised care to his patients, focusing on their individual needs, values, and choices along with the best evidence-based treatment options.

In addition to nose and sinus disorders, Ram has a particular interest in sleep apnoea management and paediatric ENT disorders. He consults at Burwood, Pendle Hill and Campbelltown, and operates at Strathfield Private and Westmead Private hospitals, as well as Canterbury Hospital.
