Dr Thompson is a highly qualified and experienced urologist with a focus on the treatment of prostate and bladder cancer. He graduated with 1st Class Honours in Medicine from the University of New South Wales before embarking on specialist training in General Urology and Cancer Surgery through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Following the completion of his training, Dr Thompson undertook a PhD in cancer research at UNSW and went on to complete an IMGSS Fellowship via The Royal College of Surgeons UK (Ed) at University College London Hospital. During this fellowship, Dr Thompson received training in robotic bladder and prostate surgery in the highest volume pelvic cancer centre in the UK, which is considered one of the largest in the world.

While at University College London Hospital, Dr Thompson was appointed as a consultant robotic surgeon, a prestigious honour that recognizes his expertise in the field. In 2018, Dr Thompson returned to Sydney, where he brought his unique, sub-specialised skillset in prostate and bladder cancer surgery to the local community. His primary focus is on providing personalised care and developing individualised treatment plans for his patients, underpinned by his extensive training and experience in urological surgery.
