Dr David Yeo is a highly experienced Upper Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary and Transplant Surgeon practicing in Sydney, Australia. He currently practices at St George Private and Public Hospitals and has a wealth of training and experience behind him. After completing a Bachelor of Medical Science degree at the University of Sydney, David obtained his medical degree with Honours in 2002. He went on to complete his surgical training at RPA and St George Hospitals, earning his General Surgical Fellowship in 2009. He then spent four years in post-fellowship training, including time at RPA Hospital in Sydney, Austin Hospital in Melbourne, and St James’s University Hospital in Leeds, United Kingdom.
David has a broad range of clinical experience, including non-cancer related surgeries such as hernias, gallstone disease, and obesity, as well as oncological surgeries for primary and secondary liver tumors, pancreatic tumors, and biliary/gallbladder tumors. He is also involved in medical device development and innovation, and was awarded a seed funding grant from the New South Wales government for the ATP Innovation Medical Device Commercialization Training Program.
In addition to his clinical work, David is also academically accomplished. He completed a Master of Surgery in 2008, focusing on the impact of PET/CT imaging on the treatment of colorectal cancer liver metastases. He is currently the Clinical Research Lead in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery at the Institute of Academic Surgery at RPA Hospital.
