Dr. Kohan is a highly qualified neurosurgeon with extensive experience in the management of complex brain and spinal pathologies. He graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1998 and completed his neurosurgical training in Sydney and Melbourne in 2007. While completing his training, he had the opportunity to work with some of the most respected neurosurgeons and spine surgeons in Sydney and Melbourne spinal injury units. He also spent a year at St. Vincent's Hospital for spinal surgery fellowship. His current interest lies in minimally invasive brain and spine surgery.
After completing his formal training in neurosurgery and spine surgery, he pursued a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery in Istanbul, Turkey. Under the guidance of Prof. Memet Ozek, past president of the European Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery, Dr. Kohan gained in-depth knowledge and skills in managing congenital spinal malformations, brain tumors, and neuroendoscopy. He is particularly interested in complex spinal pathologies, including degenerative pathology, trauma, and tumors involving the spinal column and the spinal cord. He also specialises in complex congenital spinal malformations, neuro-oncology, neuro-endoscopy, and neurosurgical interventions for cerebral palsy and spasticity.
Currently, Dr. Kohan consults at St. George Private Hospital and Sydney Children's Hospital, where he provides high-quality standard of care for all his patients. He also operates at St. George Public, St. George Private Hospitals and Sydney Children's Hospital. Dr. Kohan is dedicated to providing his patients with the best possible care and regularly attends local and overseas training seminars to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in neurosurgery.
