Dr David Neville Wilson

Meet Dr. David Wilson, a neurosurgeon based in Australia with extensive experience in managing brain, spine, and peripheral nerve-related conditions. Specifically, he has a keen interest in treating spinal tumours, degeneration, and trauma as well as brain tumour and epilepsy surgery. Dr. Wilson currently works at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Prince of Wales Private Hospital.

Dr. Wilson completed his Bachelor of Medical Sciences at The University of Sydney in 2003 and later pursued a medical degree at The University of Queensland in 2007. His neurosurgery training took place at the top hospitals in Sydney and Brisbane including Prince of Wales Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, The Princess Alexandra Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and Sydney Children’s Hospital. In 2022, he was awarded the prestigious fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

David's passion for neurosurgery has been fueled by his desire to improve healthcare outcomes. He obtained his Masters in Public Health from The University of Newcastle in 2014, alongside completing his neurosurgery training. This completed his skill set to include how public health policies could aid in the management of neurosurgical conditions, strengthening his approach as a physician in the field. In the same year, he took Spinal Trauma and Complex Spinal Surgery fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital, where his experience enabled him to acquire the necessary skills to treat spinal deformities, traumatic and oncological conditions.

Currently, he is part of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia, and the Australian Medical Association. Dr. Wilson has an impressive track record in managing complex neurosurgical cases, with a patient-centered approach to healthcare.
