Rodney Allan

Dr Allan is a highly qualified consultant neurosurgeon who practices at North Shore Private Hospital. He holds the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Neurosurgery, an internationally recognized certification. After completing his Fellowship, Dr Allan spent two years in London, Ontario, Canada, pursuing the rare Charles Drake Clinical Fellowship in Cerebrovascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy. He received advanced training in both microsurgical treatment of blood vessel abnormalities in the brain, as well as endovascular treatment through this fellowship. He has gone on to become one of the few neurosurgeons worldwide who are qualified to offer both treatments.

While in Canada, Dr Allan gained extensive experience in aneurysm surgery, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), carotid endarterectomy, brain bypass surgery (EC-IC bypass), and skull base surgery, including the treatment of complex tumors such as acoustic neuromas. He also received advanced training in minimal access spinal techniques, spinal arthroplasty, and epilepsy surgery. Dr Allan is particularly interested and a specialist in cerebral aneurysms, brain tumors (benign and malignant), trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm, carotid stenosis, AVMs, pituitary tumors, and general neurosurgery.
