Dr Vanessa Sammons

Dr. X is a highly skilled Neurosurgeon who holds practicing rights at several hospitals including North Shore Private Hospital, Gosford Private Hospital, Brisbane Waters Private Hospital and Ballina Day Surgery. With a special interest in Peripheral Nerve Surgery, Dr. X provides a personalised and thoughtful approach to patient care, striving to achieve the best possible outcome.

After obtaining an honours degree from the University of Sydney, Dr. X was awarded the Hinder Memorial Prize for Surgery. She then went on to complete a Master of Philosophy in Advanced Medicine, where she conducted research on brain arteriovenous malformations. Dr. X underwent extensive training at several of Sydney’s top hospitals including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, St George Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital before being awarded Fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons as a Neurosurgeon.

To further enhance her skills, Dr. X travelled to Calgary, Canada where she undertook subspecialty training in Peripheral Nerve Surgery under the mentorship of Dr Rajiv Midha, a world-renowned Peripheral Nerve Surgeon. During her training, Dr. X was also elected as the trainee representative to the Training Board of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia.

Dr. X is an active member of several professional organisations including the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia, the Women in Surgery Section of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the International Association of Women Surgeons, the American Society of Peripheral Nerve and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Dr. X is also a proud mother of two.
