Johnny Wong

Dr Wong is a highly-skilled neurosurgeon with extensive training and expertise in various neurosurgical conditions. He graduated with honours from the University of New South Wales before completing his neurosurgical training at several prestigious hospitals in Sydney. He was then awarded FRACS in Neurosurgery in 2014 and went on to complete two subspecialty fellowships in North America with the support of separate travel scholarships from Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. These include a 1-year open cerebrovascular and skull base fellowship at the University of Toronto and a 2-year endovascular and interventional neuroradiology fellowship at Stanford University.

Dr Wong's training and experience cover a wide range of areas in neurosurgery, including cerebrovascular and brain tumours, cerebrospinal fluid disorders, spinal conditions, and peripheral nerve disorders. His practice, Eminence Neurosurgery, reflects his interests in neurosurgery, which includes applying endoscopic and minimally-invasive approaches to all neurosurgical conditions. Additionally, his expertise in endovascular and cerebrovascular neurosurgery enables him to provide his patients with comprehensive and advanced care.

While completing his neurosurgical training, Dr Wong obtained a Masters degree in clinical epidemiology at the University of Sydney and a PhD degree at Macquarie University. His research on spinal cord injury and spinal cord cysts (syringomyelia) earned him several accolades, including the Peter Leech Memorial Prize in 2012 and the Macquarie University Research Excellence Award in 2013.
