Dr Daniel Bills

Dr Daniel Bills is an experienced Colorectal and General Surgeon currently practicing in Lismore and Ballina. After graduating from The Sydney University School of Medicine in 2001, he completed his fellowship in general surgery in 2008, followed by a colorectal fellowship in minimally invasive colon and rectal surgery at the John Flynn Hospital in 2010. Along with holding various academic posts with Bond, Griffith, and Monash Universities, he is a current foundation member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Academy of Surgical Educators. Dr Bills has presented at both local and international scientific meetings with a focus on the management of complicated diverticular disease. He is also the current local principal investigator for the Bi-National Colorectal Cancer Audit, a collaboration between CSSANZ and Monash University. Dr Bills treats a range of general surgical conditions such as hernias, skin cancers, and gallbladder, along with offering investigative endoscopy services. He believes that the surgical procedure is just a small part of a patient’s journey and takes pride in providing personalised care with great bedside manner, being a good listener, and clear communicator. Dr Bills values collaboration with all health professionals to ensure patients receive the best treatment possible. He emphasizes effective communication and education to provide optimum outcomes for all his patients.
