Born in South Africa, Dr. Conroy Howson received her training through the College of Medicine of South Africa and attained her Fellowship in 1998. After practicing in the United Kingdom for nearly six years, she moved to Australia and settled in Cairns, far north Queensland, where she was Director of ENT, Head and Neck Surgery for the Cairns and Hinterland District for five years. During this time, she established a new and comprehensive ENT service out of Cairns Base Hospital. Dr. Conroy Howson is a member of the Australian Society of Head and Neck Surgeons and holds a Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, having successfully completed the examination in 2007. She has a particular clinical interest in Rhinology and Otology and is happy to see both adult and pediatric patients. She performs tonsillectomies on children from 12 months of age at Sunnybank Private Hospital. Dr. Conroy Howson offers a broad, comprehensive, and caring ENT service and has short waiting times for appointments and theater. She welcomes all referrals and is available for discussion and advice regarding any concerns patients might have.
