Dr Jo-Lyn McKenzie

Dr McKenzie is a highly experienced Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgeon with extensive expertise in advanced Head and Neck Cancer surgery. She is based in Brisbane and is affiliated with the Princess Alexandra and Sunshine Coast University Hospitals, as well as the Brisbane Private Hospital. Dr McKenzie offers a full range of adult and paediatric ENT services, including treatment for glue ear, hearing loss, ear infections, tonsillitis, snoring, and sinus problems. Her areas of specialization include Thyroid, Head and Neck Cancer, and she has a particular interest in Rhinology, Endoscopic Sinus, and Skull Base Surgery. Dr McKenzie received numerous academic honors and prizes in Surgery and Medicine during her medical school years. She was selected early for training as an Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon and chose to return to her home state of Queensland after completing her training in Brisbane. She also received advanced post-fellowship training at Princess Alexandra Hospital, and she is currently pursuing further training in Rhinology, Endoscopic Sinus, and Skull Base Surgery in London. Dr McKenzie is passionate about advancing the field of surgery and research. She has published several papers and has been invited to speak at numerous national conferences. Her work has also been featured in several cutting-edge clinical trials. Additionally, Dr McKenzie holds an academic appointment at the University of Queensland as a Lecturer in Medicine and Surgery, and she is involved in ongoing training as a mentor and supervisor to junior surgeons. Dr McKenzie is known for her patient-centered care and attention to detail. She is committed to providing compassionate and caring treatment to all of her patients, and she understands the importance of clear communication and guidance. As a mother of young children, she is also familiar with the challenges that families face in dealing with medical issues. Dr McKenzie is an active member of her community and is involved in local events and activities. Outside of work, she enjoys running and spending time with her family.
