Dr Ali Gursel

Dr. Ali Gursel is an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Hip and Knee surgery, Arthroscopic, Joint Replacement, and Revision surgery. He is a member of various professional associations, including the Hip Arthroscopy Society, Arthroplasty Society of Australia, and Standards Australia. Dr. Gursel completed his medical education with Honours in 1992 from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and initiated his Orthopaedic Fellowship from the Sydney Northside Scheme. He has undertaken several fellowships in arthroplasty, both in the UK and Australia.

Dr. Gursel has held notable positions, such as serving as a member of the Federal Government Health and Ageing Hip Advisory Committee, as well as being a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, the Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Australian Medical Association. Currently, he is the chairperson of the NSW AOA (Australian Orthopaedic Association).

As an associate of Specialty Orthopaedics, Dr. Gursel consults at various locations, including the Bella Vista Clinic at Norwest Private Hospital, Macquarie Clinic at Macquarie University, and Wahroonga Clinic at Fox Valley Road. He is currently serving as the NSW Chair of ASOS (Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons) and has previously held the position of NSW Chair of AOA (Australian Orthopaedic Association). In 2018, he was awarded the AOA Leadership Award.
