Desmond Bokor is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow surgery. With extensive experience in the field, he has a keen interest in shoulder arthroplasty, arthroscopic surgery, rotator cuff disease, and instability surgery.
Desmond obtained his Honours degree from Monash University in Melbourne and completed his Orthopaedic Training in Sydney through the Australian Orthopaedic Association Training Programme. He furthered his training in Sports Medicine/Knee Surgery under renowned doctors such as Drs Mervyn Cross and Leo Pinczewski in Sydney. He also pursued fellowship training in Shoulder Surgery with Dr Richard Hawkins at the University of Western Ontario, Canada.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Desmond holds a Masters of Higher Education (Medical) from Macquarie University. He is a founding member of the Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia and has served as Secretary and President. Desmond is a corresponding member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society, the Australian Orthopaedic Association, and the Australian Medical Association. He serves as an Examiner in Orthopaedic Surgery on the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Court of Examiners, and is a respected Sub-Editor for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. Furthermore, he contributes as a reviewer for the Malaysian Orthopaedic Journal.
Currently, Desmond holds the position of Clinical Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine, Health & Human Sciences at Macquarie University in Sydney. He also practices as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Northern Beaches Hospital. Desmond's dedication to his patients and his passion for the field of Orthopaedics make him highly regarded in the medical community.
