Dr Ajith Navaratne

Dr Ajith Navaratne is a Psychiatrist and Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist with a speciality in General Adult Psychiatry and subspecialties of Liaison Psychiatry. With over a decade of clinical experience, Dr Navaratne has a specific interest in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and alternative treatments for depression such as repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT).

Dr Navaratne completed his MBBS at Colombo Teaching Hospitals, University of Colombo Sri Lanka and went on to complete his Post Graduate Medicine Training at the same university. In 2007, he migrated to Australia and gained work experience in various hospitals in Victoria and Queensland before relocating to Toowoomba to further his training in psychiatry. Dr Navaratne successfully obtained Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry in 2018. Since then, he has served as a Consultant and Liaison Psychiatrist on the North Coast of NSW.
