Dr Lee Williams

Dr Lee C Williams is a dedicated and caring Specialist Psychiatrist and Medical Director at Ascent Psychiatry, a boutique private mental health clinic located in Robina on the Gold Coast. With a passion for delivering holistic, high-quality, evidence-based patient care, Dr Williams is committed to providing support and education to both patients and their families.

Having obtained his CertSci qualifications, Dr Williams has a special interest in depressive disorders, including treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), personality disorder, complex PTSD, psychosis and schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and perinatal mental health.

With over a decade of experience and expertise, Dr Williams has developed a deep understanding of various age groups, including 18-60 and 16-24. His wide-ranging experiences have allowed him to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, gender diverse individuals, gay and lesbian individuals, intersex individuals, Maori individuals, military and veterans, non-English speaking individuals, and those with physical disabilities.

Dr Williams has developed specific expertise in ADHD, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, depression, mindfulness, obsessive-compulsive disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychodynamic psychotherapy, psychotherapy, and supportive psychotherapy. He is well-versed in providing weekly psychotherapy sessions and has experience working with interpreters when necessary.

Throughout his career, Dr Williams has been honored with multiple awards and accolades, including the prestigious RANZCP ‘Prize in Psychiatry' for achieving the highest mark in the mental health clinical rotation as a medical student. Additionally, he has been selected for the AMA Foundation Scholarship and Commonwealth Learning Scholarship, further highlighting his dedication and commitment to the field of psychiatry.
