Dr Heidi Peverill is a highly skilled breast, melanoma, and oncoplastic surgeon who has dedicated her career to providing top-quality medical care to her patients and mentoring the next generation of doctors. Dr Peverill obtained her medical degree with honors from Monash University and pursued advanced training to become a qualified oncoplastic breast surgeon. She later completed a Master of Advanced Breast Surgery and has been a full member of BreastSurgANZ since 2013, specialising in the treatment of breast cancer.
Dr Peverill is an advocate for young surgeons and women in medicine, serving as a member of the RACS Younger Fellows committee and Women in Surgery section. She is also passionate about supporting and mentoring medical students. Dr Peverill is a senior instructor and clinical tutor at UQ where she guides and prepares students for the medical environment. Additionally, Dr Peverill serves as a national committee member and senior instructor for the Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient curriculum, a program that trains doctors to recognize and manage at-risk patients.
Dr Peverill's accomplishments have not gone unnoticed. She established the first stand-alone breast reconstruction clinic at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where she also worked in their High Risk Breast Cancer service. She now practices at the Women's Health Centre at Gold Coast Private Hospital. Furthermore, Dr Peverill has conducted groundbreaking research on breast cancer prevention in young women.
In her free time, Dr Peverill enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter, and can often be found outdoors enjoying nature. Overall, Dr Heidi Peverill is a highly trained and passionate surgeon who is committed to providing excellent medical care and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals.
