Dr Steven Andrews

Dr Steven Andrews is an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in surgeries for the Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, and Hand, including Microsurgery. He has been practicing privately for over 15 years in Brisbane, Australia. Dr. Andrews is affiliated with the Brisbane Hand & Upper Limb Clinic, located at the Brisbane Private Hospital.

Dr. Andrews completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland and received orthopedic training at prestigious hospitals such as the Royal Brisbane Hospital, Toowoomba Base Hospital, Gold Coast Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Mater Public Hospital, and Queensland Children’s Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, Queensland Shoulder Society, Queensland Hand Surgery Society, and Australian Medical Association, among others.

In addition to his extensive experience, Dr. Andrews completed advanced fellowship training in Upper Limb Surgery at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, focusing on shoulder and elbow surgeries, and a hand surgery fellowship at St Luke’s Hospital and Sydney Eye and Hand Hospital. He is also a Master Certified Independent Medical Examiner with the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners and is on the Workcover Queensland Panel.

Dr. Andrews actively engages in academic and research projects, with a particular interest in elbow surgery. He is an active member of the Brisbane Hand and Upper Limb Research Institute and contributes to teaching medical students, junior doctors, and colleagues as a Visiting Specialist and Director of Orthopaedics at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland.

Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Andrews volunteers as the Chief Medical Officer for RACESAFE, Australia’s premier Motorsport Emergency Response Service. He leads a specialized team of Trauma Doctors, Surgeons, Paramedics, Physiotherapists, Nurses, and other volunteers to ensure the safety of Motorsport events.
