Dr Darren Marchant

Dr Marchant's primary interests lie in orthopaedic surgery of the hand, elbow, shoulder, and wrist. He has completed extensive fellowship training to enhance his skills in his chosen field. His first fellowship was at The University of Texas Health Science Centre in San Antonio, where he focused on shoulder surgery, including primary and complex revision procedures, humeral resurfacing, and the surgical management of sporting injuries to the shoulder.

Following this, Dr Marchant undertook a year of fellowship at the Department of Hand and Peripheral Nerve Surgery at The Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. During this time, he gained substantial experience in elective and traumatic surgery of the hand and wrist, including micro-surgical and reconstructive training, as well as peripheral nerve surgery.

Dr Marchant's final fellowship was with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at The Royal North Shore Hospital, where he furthered his expertise in shoulder and elbow surgeries. This included arthroplasty, trauma management, and arthroscopic procedures.

Continuously upgrading his skills, Dr Marchant remains committed to staying informed about new techniques and procedures in his field. He finds his fellowship experience extremely rewarding and applies his extensive knowledge and expertise to both elective and trauma cases in his private practice.

Notably, Dr Marchant has a special interest in caring for elite athletes and has treated several teams in the Intrust Super Rugby League competition and Premier Division Rugby Union competition in Queensland. He also provides medical support to the Queensland State of Origin team, the Brisbane Bullets, the State and National Cricket programs, and Australian Swimming.
