Dr Steven Yang

Dr Steven Yang is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialized in complex spine reconstruction and vertebral tumor surgery, as well as spine, hand, and peripheral nerve surgeries. Fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Malay, Dr Yang is based in Bowen Hills, Brisbane.

Dr Yang completed his Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery in 1994 and went on to gain experience in various surgical specialties. He then pursued advanced training in orthopaedic surgery, obtaining the Fellowship of the Australasian College of Surgeons in 2004. In 2006, Dr Yang completed a Fellowship in Hand Surgery in Sydney, followed by a Fellowship in Complex Spine Surgery.

With a strong commitment to advancing his expertise, Dr Yang has completed additional fellowship appointments in Cleveland, Ohio, New York, and Germany, focusing on cutting-edge spine surgery techniques. He is actively involved in research at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, particularly in the areas of spinal infection and oncology.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Yang serves as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland, School of Medicine, continuously honing his skills in spinal and hand surgery.

Dr Yang holds membership in a number of prestigious medical associations, including the Australasian College of Surgeons, Australian Medical Association, Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association, and the Spine Society of Australia.
