Dr Mark Ross is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder surgeries. He practices in Woody Point, Brisbane, and is affiliated with the Brisbane Private Hospital. Dr Ross earned his MBBS and FRACS qualifications from the University of Queensland in 1989. He completed a fellowship in Hand and Upper Limb Surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in 1997, followed by a 12-month Fellowship at the Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in the United States.
As an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at The University of Queensland, Dr Ross directs the Upper Limb Fellowship Programme at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and co-directs the Brisbane Hand and Upper Limb Research Institute. He has a strong research background and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and authored numerous book chapters.
Dr Ross is actively involved in various professional societies and holds leadership positions, including President of the Shoulder & Elbow Society of Australia (SESA) and President-Elect of the Australian Hand Surgery Society (AHSS). He has also served as the Immediate Past President of the Queensland Shoulder Society (QSS) and Past President of the Queensland Hand Surgery Society (QHSS). Dr Ross is an international member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
With a focus on complex reconstructive and revision surgeries, Dr Mark Ross has contributed significantly to the development of new surgical techniques and joint replacement technologies. He is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to his patients.
