Dr Mark Hile

Dr Mark Hile is an accomplished Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Hand and Wrist surgeries. He serves the communities of the lower North Shore and Northern Beaches in Sydney, Australia. Dr Hile obtained his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with first-class honors, followed by a degree in medicine and surgery from the prestigious University of Sydney.

Dr Hile started his medical career as an intern, resident medical officer, and basic surgical trainee at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He completed his advanced training in Orthopaedic Surgery under the Australian Orthopaedic Association Sydney Northside training scheme in 2000. In 2001, he was awarded the Lincoln Centre Fellowship at the Hand Surgery Department of Royal North Shore Hospital, where he worked alongside Professor Michael Tonkin. During this time, he also served as an Honorary Research Fellow at The Children's Hospital at Westmead, working with Professor David Little.

Throughout his career, Dr Hile has conducted research and published multiple articles on fracture healing and tendon repair. He is now a director of the Peninsula Orthopaedics Research Institute, demonstrating his commitment to advancing the field of Orthopaedics.

Dr Hile is associated with Northern Beaches Hospital, North Shore Private Hospital, and Castlecrag Private Hospital. He provides his services to the community through the Emergency and Trauma on-call rosters at Northern Beaches Hospitals.

Dr Hile has a special interest in treating a range of hand conditions, including carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's disease, arthritis of the wrist, thumb, and fingers, fractures, ligament tears, wrist arthroscopic treatments, scaphoid fractures, and nonunions.
