Dr. Monique Stone is an accomplished paediatrician with a passion for evidence-based medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Sydney in 1993, graduating with first-class honours. After completing her residency, she completed her paediatrics training at Sydney Children's Hospital and holds dual fellowships in general pediatrics and paediatric endocrinology. Dr. Stone also trained at the Children's Hospital at Westmead, Westmead Adolescent Unit, and Darwin.
Dr. Stone's interest in research methodology led her to obtain a Doctor of Medicine at UNSW, where she wrote her thesis on insulin resistance in type 1 diabetes. She also holds a Master of Clinical Epidemiology and a Master of Public Health.
During her career, Dr. Stone has worked as a staff specialist in paediatric endocrinology at RNSH and remains a VMO there. She has also been in private practice since obtaining her fellowship. Dr. Stone spent eight years working for the TGA, where she played a vital role in the registration of prescription medicines. She now dedicates most of her time to private practice and teaching medical students and junior doctors.
Dr. Stone believes in working with children, young people, and their families to optimise their health and well-being. She is a firm believer in evidence-based medicine and has a particular interest in this area. Recently, Dr. Stone was appointed as a staff specialist at Campbelltown Hospital.
