Associate Professor Tim Schindler is a leading figure in the field of neonatology. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Sydney and spent his early career working as an intern and resident medical officer at Gosford Hospital. Tim then pursued his passion for paediatrics and gained extensive experience at the Sydney Children's Hospital, where he further specialized in neonatology at Royal Hospital for Women. With over a decade of experience at the Royal Hospital for Women's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Tim provides unwavering support to families as they navigate the journey of parenthood.
In addition to his clinical work, Tim is an active clinician researcher with a deep interest in developing new ultrasound techniques in newborn care and neonatal clinical trials. He completed his PhD through the University of New South Wales in 2016 and continues to mentor and supervise medical students, junior doctors, and higher degree research students from Sydney Children's Hospital, Royal Hospital for Women, and the University of New South Wales.
Recently, Tim commenced work at the Northern Beaches Hospital in 2022, where he works with newborns and infants in consulting rooms. He has a keen interest in the follow-up care of preterm infants, infant growth and development, reflux, intolerances/allergies, and the diagnosis and management of medical conditions affecting infants. With his wealth of experience and deep expertise, Tim is committed to providing the best possible care for newborns and their families.
