Dr Robert Sew Hoy is an orthopaedic surgeon with extensive qualifications and experience in the field. He obtained his MB ChB degree and completed his Arthroplasty Fellowship at the renowned Brigham and Women's and New England Baptist Hospitals, Harvard Medical School in 2004. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
With a Master of Medicine degree from the University of Sydney, awarded with a merit, Dr Sew Hoy has a strong academic background. He currently serves as the Director of Training for Orthopaedic Trainees at Northern Beaches Hospital, where he manages the academic program and conducts interviews for the Advanced Orthopaedic Trainee selection process. He is also a tutor at the University of Sydney.
Dr Sew Hoy is a skilled surgeon, specializing in hip, knee, and trauma surgery. He has a particular interest in hip and knee replacement, with expertise in the direct anterior approach to total hip replacement and Mako robotic hip and knee replacement. He performs over 200 hip and knee replacements annually, along with other surgeries such as revision hip and knee replacement, knee arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction, and trauma/fracture surgery.
As the Head of the Orthopedic department at Northern Beaches Hospital, Dr Sew Hoy leads a team dedicated to providing the highest quality care to patients. He applies his knowledge, skills, and expertise to ensure that each patient receives the best possible treatment and support.
