Dr Levi Bassin

Dr. Bassin holds a degree in Computer Science and later pursued Medicine at the University of Sydney. He completed his PhD studies in cardiac electrophysiology and clinical training at several hospitals, including St Vincent’s Hospital, Wagga Base, Prince of Wales, and Royal North Shore Hospital. He also trained at Harvard Medical School in Boston, where he specialized in minimally invasive surgery, particularly Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI).

Dr. Bassin’s primary focus is to provide patients with appropriate treatment in the least invasive way possible. He aims to utilize less invasive procedures such as less invasive cardiac or thoracic surgery and newer technologies such as TAVI and robotic surgery. His special interests include mitral valve repair, minimally invasive heart surgery, robotic mitral valve, coronary bypass and thoracic surgery, as well as TAVI.

Dr. Bassin’s approach to cardiothoracic surgery aims to provide patients with the best possible outcomes while minimizing discomfort and the associated risks that come with open-heart surgery. His expertise in minimally invasive procedures allows him to provide the appropriate treatment to each patient while minimizing their recovery time.
