Dr Kiarna Brown

Dr Kiarna Brown is a Specialist Obstetrician gynaecologist based in Darwin, Australia. With a deep-seated dedication to improving the health outcomes of Aboriginal women and their babies, she has made significant contributions to the field of Gynaecology. Currently, she divides her clinical time between Royal Darwin Hospital and Darwin Private Hospital, located in the Northern Territory of Australia.

Dr Brown's commitment to Aboriginal Women's Health is evident in her active role within the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Women’s Health Committee. Through this committee, she actively advocates for better healthcare access and outcomes for Aboriginal women. She also serves as a local champion for the National Preterm Birth Prevention Alliance, where she works towards reducing premature births and improving the overall health of expectant mothers.

Recently appointed as a Menzies Senior Research Fellow, Dr Brown has been afforded an excellent opportunity to advance her medical career and contribute to ongoing research in the field of Gynaecology. Her passion for improving healthcare for Aboriginal women is reflected in her aspiration to see every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander baby receive the best possible start in life. By providing comprehensive medical care and support to expectant mothers, she aims to make a significant impact on the overall health of the Aboriginal community.
