Professor Christian Hamilton-Craig, a highly respected and internationally renowned consultant cardiologist, is currently offering his expertise in cardiology at Noosa Hospital in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Adelaide and an Honours degree from Trinity College, Cambridge UK. specialising in non-invasive diagnostic cardiology, Professor Hamilton-Craig completed his specialist training at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney and the Prince Charles Hospital Brisbane. He also pursued fellowships in Rome, Italy, and the University of Washington Medical Centre, Seattle, USA, further enhancing his knowledge and experience. Notably, he holds a PhD in Cardiology from the University of Queensland.
For over ten years, Professor Hamilton-Craig has held the prestigious position of Eminent Staff Cardiologist at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane. There, he spearheads the Lipid Familial Hypercholesterolemia service and actively participates in various important programs, including the Marfans, Adult Congenital, Cardiac Surgery, and Structural Heart programs. In addition, he serves as a Professor of Medicine at Griffith University School of Medicine and an Associate Professor at the University of Queensland Centre for Advanced Imaging.
Professor Hamilton-Craig's expertise in cardiac imaging is unparalleled, with extensive experience in Echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography, 3D Transoesophageal Echocardiography, Cardiac CT Angiography, and Cardiac MRI. This proficiency has earned him the distinction of being one of the most prolific providers of cardiac imaging services in Australia. He is internationally recognized as both a clinician and researcher, holding positions on notable committees such as the International Guidelines Committee of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. Additionally, he acts as the Queensland representative of the Australian Atherosclerosis Society and chairs the Conjoint Committee for Certification in Cardiac MRI for Australia and New Zealand.
At Noosa Hospital, Professor Hamilton-Craig extends his expertise to offer advanced cardiac risk assessment and precision risk profiling. He provides consultations and investigations for a wide range of cardiology issues, including general cardiology, chest pain and acute coronary syndromes, atrial fibrillation and cardioversions, valvular heart disease, heart failure and adult congenital disorders care, and sports and indigenous health cardiology. Outside of his medical practice, Professor Hamilton-Craig enjoys playing the guitar and surfing, and he recently relocated to the Noosa Hinterlands with his family.
