Dr Sam Hayman

Dr Sam Hayman is a highly skilled and experienced cardiologist, specialising in interventional cardiology. He joined GenesisCare in 2017 and currently practices in South Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Dr Hayman's journey in medicine began with his graduation from the prestigious University of Queensland in 2008, where he achieved his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with honors. During his studies, he worked as a cardiac scientist at The Prince Charles Hospital, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in the field.

Following his graduation, Dr Hayman pursued physician training and advanced training in cardiology at the renowned Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and the Nambour General Hospital. His dedication and commitment to his profession led to his becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2015.

Driven by his passion for interventional cardiology, Dr Hayman decided to further enhance his skills and expertise by completing two years of fellowship in interventional cardiology at the London Health Sciences Centre in London, Ontario, Canada. This specialised training enabled him to perform coronary and structural interventions, including angioplasty, stenting, and transcatheter heart valve implantation and repair. He is recognized as an accredited TAVI practitioner.

Throughout his career, Dr Hayman has actively contributed to medical research and has made significant contributions to the field. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and continues to pursue ongoing research interests.

Currently, Dr Sam Hayman operates from the Mater Private Clinic in South Brisbane, providing general cardiology services and coronary interventions. He is also a valued member of The Wesley Heart Team, where he performs Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation and Mitraclip procedures. Additionally, he offers his expertise in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation and coronary interventions at Greenslopes Private Hospital. Dr Hayman also makes regular visits to Gympie.

In addition to his private practice, Dr Sam Hayman holds a public appointment at The Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and serves as an associate lecturer for The University of Queensland.
