Dr Owen Jenkins

Dr Owen Jenkins is an Orthopaedic surgeon based in South Brisbane, specializing in general trauma, primary and revision joint replacement surgery of the Knee and Hip, lower limb Arthroscopy, and Foot and Ankle surgery. He practices at Sunnybank Private Hospital and has appointments in both the public and private sectors across South Brisbane.

Originally from the UK, Dr Jenkins obtained his medical degree there and completed his residency at a large tertiary teaching hospital within the NHS. He moved to Australia, completed his advanced Orthopaedic training locally, and obtained FRACS after working throughout South-east Queensland. Dr Jenkins also completed an advanced fellowship training in primary and revision Arthroplasty and expanded his Foot and Ankle surgical skills under the supervision of Dr Terry Saxby, a well-regarded Foot and Ankle surgeon in Australia.

Patient satisfaction is important to Dr Jenkins, and he is committed to providing holistic care through a close relationship with the multi-disciplinary team, including general and rehabilitation physicians and allied health services. He is an active participant in Medical student and Junior Doctor education, contributing to his public appointment and ongoing research projects.

Outside of work, Dr Jenkins enjoys spending time with his young family, listening to music, reading, and supporting his beloved soccer team, Leeds United. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) and a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA).
