Dr Chin-wern Chan is a specialist in pain medicine and anaesthesia with a diverse range of interests and extensive experience. He currently practices at Hollywood and Joondalup Health Campus and has a public appointment at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Dr Chan's interests include paediatric, cancer, post-operative, geriatric pain management, as well as osteoarthritis. He also conducts research at the McCusker Alzheimer's Disease Research Institute, located at Hollywood Medical Centre.
Dr Chan's qualifications come from a rigorous academic track. After graduating from the University of Western Australia, he continued his anesthesia training and pain medicine fellowship training at the aforementioned hospital. His academic journey also took him to the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, where he completed a fellowship in paediatric pain medicine and anaesthesia.
In pursuit of expanding his knowledge, Dr Chan embarked on a clinical fellowship in pain medicine and regional anaesthesia at the University of Toronto, Canada. Here, he completed detailed research on subjects such as low back pain, ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia techniques and paediatric pain management.
