Dr Duane Anderson

Dr Duane Anderson is a highly trained and skilled Anaesthetist and Pain Medicine Physician with a passion for interdisciplinary pain management. Currently, he has a list at Glengarry Private Hospital where he works to collaborate with other specialties involved in the treatment of patients experiencing pain. He specifically focuses on allied health, such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and psychology.

Dr Anderson also holds a public appointment as the Head of the Pain Management Unit at Fiona Stanley Hospital. The unit has strong links with the State Rehabilitation Service, where he works to strengthen the collaboration between different expertise to provide the best possible patient care.

Dr Anderson's contributions extend beyond his work at the hospital. He was recently appointed to the Faculty of Pain Medicine Training Unit Accreditation Committee, which accredits hospitals for pain medicine training status in Australia and New Zealand. He is also a member of an Expert Advisory Group on Analgesics specialising in formulating recommendations and guidelines for safe and appropriate use of pain medications to the WA Drug Evaluation Panel.

Duane completed his specialist anaesthesia training at the University of Auckland and achieved Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2014. He continued to pursue further specialization, spending another two years at the Faculty of Pain Medicine after completing a one-year fellowship in anaesthesia at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital with a focus on acute and chronic pain management.

Dr Anderson has worked across all four main teaching hospitals in the Perth region, giving him a broad range of experience and interventional procedural skills. With his extensive knowledge and expertise, he strives to provide patients with the best possible pain management options while collaborating with experts in the field to continually improve the standards of pain management care.
