Dr Rose McDonnell

Dr Rose McDonnell is a highly skilled and dedicated gynaecologist and fertility specialist based in Claremont, Perth, Western Australia. With a passion for providing exceptional care to her patients, she offers a wide range of fertility services, with a particular interest in in vitro fertilization (IVF) and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).

Dr McDonnell's journey in medicine began as a Medical Scientist, where she specialised in biochemistry, haematology, and microbiology. However, her interest in the patient story and a desire to make a more direct impact on people's lives led her to pursue a career in medicine. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery degree at the University of Notre Dame in Australia in 2008.

After obtaining her medical degree, Dr McDonnell gained valuable experience working in various medical fields before starting her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Subiaco. It was during this training that she had the opportunity to immerse herself in Reproductive Medicine, which further ignited her passion for fertility care. She engaged in several research projects with renowned expert Professor Roger Hart and successfully completed a Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine.

Following the completion of her obstetrics and gynaecology training, Dr McDonnell further honed her skills through an AGES Laparoscopic Gynaecology Fellowship at King Edward Memorial Hospital. During this time, she also earned her Masters in Reproductive Medicine, expanding her expertise in the field.

At Fertility Specialists of WA, Dr Rose McDonnell offers evening clinics and Skype appointments to accommodate the needs of her patients who may find it challenging to attend during regular working hours or those who work away. She considers it a privilege to assist individuals and couples in their journey towards parenthood, drawing from her personal experience as a mother of two.
