Dr Thomas is also a consultant for Fiona Stanley Hospital's inflammatory bowel disease team where she is committed to providing expert care to her patients in the public healthcare system. Her expertise and passion for transition care of young adults with chronic gastrointestinal diseases led her to coordinate the innovative IBD Transition Clinic between Perth Children’s Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital.
Amanda began her medical career in the University of Western Australia, where she obtained her medical degree in 2009. She then completed her basic physician training at Fremantle Hospital in 2014, followed by her advanced gastroenterology training in Sydney at prestigious hospitals such as Royal Prince Alfred, Sydney Children's, Concord General Repatriation, and Bankstown Lidcombe Hospitals. Furthermore, Amanda pursued a 12-month overseas fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease in the UK at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
