Dr Caroline Connell

Dr Caroline Connell is a well qualified and respected Radiation Oncologist practicing in Adelaide, South Australia. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) degree with honors from Flinders University of South Australia. Dr Connell completed her training in Radiation Oncology at the prestigious Royal Adelaide and Alfred Hospitals, earning the college medal for her outstanding performance in the final exams.

To further enhance her skills and knowledge, she underwent a fellowship year specialising in Head and Neck Cancer at the renowned Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. During this time, she conducted research on the role of PET/CT in the management of head and neck cancer, which was subsequently published. Dr Connell also gained valuable clinical experience during her fellowship at both East Melbourne and Bendigo campuses.

With a passion for providing comprehensive care, Dr Connell spent two years treating urological malignancies in Oxford, United Kingdom. This international experience broadened her expertise and allowed her to develop a holistic and patient-centered approach to oncology.

Since 2009, Dr Connell has been an integral part of the Adelaide Radiotherapy Centre. With a particular interest in breast, lung, gastrointestinal, palliative, head and neck, urological, and skin malignancies, as well as benign conditions such as Dupuytren's Contracture, she is equipped to handle a diverse range of cases.

Dr Connell actively contributes to the education of radiotherapy registrars and regularly attends multidisciplinary team meetings. These meetings provide a platform for collaboration with other specialist colleagues, ensuring optimal and individualized treatment plans for each patient.

Consulting at the Flinders Private Rooms, Dr Connell caters to both private and public patients. She manages all oncological conditions amenable to radiotherapy and is committed to staying at the forefront of oncological practice. Dr Connell actively recruits patients to clinical trials through the Flinders Medical Centre Cancer Clinic, offering them access to the latest advancements in oncology.
