Dr Clare Suttie is a distinguished Radiation Oncologist practicing in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with Honours and a Bachelor of Science in Medicine (BSc Med) degree. Dr Suttie is also a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR).
With over a decade of experience, Dr Suttie has established herself as an expert in her field. She obtained her medical degree from the University of New South Wales in 2005 and completed her internship and residency at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, New South Wales. Following this, she underwent rigorous training in radiation oncology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, completing her training in 2012.
During her fellowship in breast cancer at Royal North Shore Hospital, Dr Suttie played an instrumental role in implementing innovative treatment techniques such as Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy and Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH) for breast cancer patients. She has since focused on subspecialties including breast cancer, upper gastrointestinal malignancies, lower gastrointestinal malignancies, hepatobiliary malignancies, and neuroendocrine malignancies.
Dr Suttie's dedication to research and teaching is evident through her contributions to medical education and professional development. She served as the Director of Training at St George Hospital in Sydney, where she mentored and guided radiation oncology trainees. Additionally, she was a conjoint lecturer with the University of New South Wales and regularly delivered presentations for the Basic Sciences and Oncology Course in New South Wales.
In recognition of her expertise, Dr Suttie has received numerous awards for her research and clinical excellence. She has published several papers in esteemed medical journals, including the ‘Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology’, 'Journal of Medical Radiology Sciences', and 'Journal of Clinical Oncology'.
Passionate about providing comprehensive and patient-centered care, Dr Suttie welcomes referrals for all types of cancer. However, she has a special clinical interest in breast cancer, upper gastrointestinal malignancies, lower gastrointestinal malignancies, and palliative radiation therapy. With her strong commitment to cancer survivorship and a holistic approach to treatment, Dr Suttie is dedicated to delivering excellence in patient care.
