Dr Jamie Morton

Dr Jamie Morton is a highly skilled and experienced Cardiologist based in Mount Barker, South Australia, Australia. He graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2001, where he obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He completed his internship at the prestigious Royal Adelaide Hospital before spending two years gaining invaluable experience working in London, particularly at St Thomas' Hospital.

Upon returning to Australia, Dr Morton relocated to Sydney, where he completed his general medical and advanced cardiology training at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. In recognition of his teaching capabilities, he was awarded the Distinguished Teacher Award in 2009. Dr Morton achieved his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2010.

In 2013, Dr Morton's dedication to research led him to obtain his PhD from the Heart Research Institute at the University of Sydney. His research examined the role of high density lipoprotein cholesterol, also known as the "good cholesterol," in cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer. This significant research was supported by a prestigious scholarship from the National Health and Medical Research Council and the National Heart Foundation. The results of his work have been shared at national and international conferences, earning recognition and awards from organizations such as the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and the Heart Research Institute.

Dr Morton returned to his hometown of Adelaide in 2013 to join Adelaide Cardiology. He currently provides consultation services at both metropolitan and regional clinics. Dr Morton's expertise lies in diagnostic imaging, with a particular focus on echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, and CT coronary angiography.
