Dr Charles Tie is a skilled Cardiologist practicing in Adelaide, South Australia. With his primary specialty being Cardiology, Dr Tie has extensive knowledge and experience in the diagnosis and management of Coronary Artery Disease, as well as Interventional Cardiology techniques, including Fractional Flow Reserve, Intracoronary Optical Coherence Tomography, and Bioresorbable Eluting Vascular Scaffold.
Dr Tie obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Otago in New Zealand in 2001. He completed his internship, general medical training, and cardiology training at the Dunedin Hospital in New Zealand. In 2012, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), which recognized his dual training in Cardiology and General Medicine.
To further enhance his skills and knowledge in Interventional Cardiology, Dr Tie completed an 18-month Interventional Fellowship at the prestigious Christchurch Hospital. During his fellowship, he actively participated in multicentre clinical trials, such as the ABSORB Cohort B Trial and the SMART-ACS (Stratifying risk with Metabolomics and platelet Reactivity Testing in Acute Coronary Syndromes) study.
Currently, Dr Tie performs diagnostic and interventional procedures at St Andrew's Hospital. Additionally, he provides consultations at the St Andrew's Medical Centre and various other clinics, including those located on Unley Road, Angaston, Leabrook, Modbury, and Wallaroo.
