Dr Adeeb Majid is an experienced upper gastrointestinal surgeon with a passion for treating patients with pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, and gastric cancer. Dr Majid completed his general surgical training at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, followed by three years of specialist training in Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery in Sydney and Adelaide. He has also gained valuable experience in pancreatic and liver surgery in Heidelberg, Germany, and Seoul, South Korea.
Dr Majid is a Fellow of Australia and New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association (ANZHPBA) and has been practicing in Newcastle since 2013. He is a highly skilled surgeon and is known for his expertise in performing laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for large hiatus hernia and reflux disease, gallbladder and hernias.
Apart from his specialty in gastroenterology, Dr Majid also performs surgeries for advanced melanoma and is affiliated with the Newcastle Melanoma Unit. He is accredited by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) for performing gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
Dr Majid has held several academic appointments, including Senior Lecturer in Surgery at Newcastle University and Conjoint Lecturer with University of New South Wales. He currently operates at John Hunter, Calvary Mater, and several private hospitals in Newcastle. Dr Majid is highly respected by his colleagues and patients, and his insights and expertise have been invaluable to those seeking his care.
