Dr Hiren Mandaliya is a skilled and dedicated medical professional who specialises in the field of oncology. As a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, he possesses a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the management and treatment of various types of cancer.

After completing his fellowship in 2018, Dr Mandaliya joined the Calvary Mater Newcastle as a Clinical Trial Fellow, aiming to expand his research experience and contribute to advancements in cancer research. He has been actively involved in numerous Phase I, Phase II, Phase III, and investigator-initiated trials as an investigator. Collaborating with leading scientists, clinicians, and researchers, Dr Mandaliya strives to provide his patients with innovative and cutting-edge cancer treatments.

Since 2019, Dr Mandaliya has served as a staff specialist medical oncologist at Calvary Mater Newcastle. He has a broad interest in managing malignancies such as gastrointestinal, gynaecological, genitourinary, lung, breast, melanoma, and head and neck cancers. He actively participates in multidisciplinary tumour board meetings at John Hunter Hospital and Calvary Mater Newcastle, where he collaborates with other experts to discuss and plan the best course of treatment for patients.

Dr Mandaliya completed his MBBS and MD in Internal Medicine in India before relocating to Australia in 2009. He underwent fellowship training in Medical Oncology (FRACP) at Calvary Mater Newcastle, North West Cancer Centre (Tamworth), and Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre. Passionate about conducting meaningful research, he actively engages in various projects with scientists from Calvary Mater Newcastle, the University of Newcastle, and the Hunter Medical Research Institute. Additionally, he holds the position of Conjoint lecturer with the University of Newcastle, demonstrating his commitment to medical education.

Dr Mandaliya's research projects have covered a wide range of cancer types, including breast, lung, and gastrointestinal cancer. He has also dedicated his research efforts to explore the psychosocial aspects of cancer survivors and the education of medical students. His research findings have been disseminated through presentations at local, national, and international conferences such as ASCO and ESMO, as well as through publication in esteemed peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Mandaliya is an esteemed member of several renowned medical organizations, including the Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA), the Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG), Breast Cancer Trials Group, ASCO, and ESMO. His unwavering passion for innovation in cancer research and his commitment to delivering the highest standard of patient care have solidified his position as a valuable asset to the medical field.
