Dr John Estens

Dr John Estens is an accomplished orthopaedic surgeon specialising in foot and ankle, hip, and knee surgeries. He practices in East Maitland, 2323, and is associated with Lake Macquarie Private Hospital and Warners Bay Private Hospital. Dr Estens graduated with a B(Med) Sci from Sydney University and completed his MBBS at the University of Queensland. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in January 2016.

Dr Estens has undergone extensive training, including fellowships under esteemed surgeons both locally and abroad. He trained under Drs James O’Sullivan, David Nicholson, and Pankaj Rao for foot and ankle surgery and completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and percutaneous foot and ankle surgery in Bordeaux, France, under Dr Olivier Laffenêtre. Dr Estens also received training in paediatric orthopaedics at Adelaide’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
