Dr Mathew Sebastian

Dr Mathew Sebastian is a highly experienced vascular surgeon who has been practicing for over a decade. specialising in vascular surgical procedures, Dr Sebastian currently provides his services in the Newcastle and Hunter Region of New South Wales. Having graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1990, Dr Sebastian subsequently underwent both basic and advanced specialty training in general surgery in Singapore. He obtained his exit certification in general surgery in 1999 and went on to complete a vascular surgical fellowship at the Carolinas Medical Center in North Carolina, USA, with a focus on endovascular therapy, including aortic stent grafting and lower extremity and renal interventions.

Dr Sebastian has served as the sub-specialty chief for vascular surgery at the Singapore General Hospital, where he was also director of the non-invasive vascular ultrasound lab. Additionally, he was an adjunct associate professor on the faculty of the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore. After moving to Australia, Dr Sebastian obtained his FRACS (Vascular Surgery) in January 2011. He currently holds a public appointment as Staff Specialist Vascular Surgeon at the John Hunter Hospital, as well as consulting privately at his rooms in Vascular HealthCare in Gateshead and East Maitland. With his extensive experience and expertise, Dr Sebastian is committed to providing the highest quality care to his patients.
