Dr Bryce Meads is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand and wrist surgery. With a dedicated practice in New Lambton, Newcastle, he serves as a senior Visiting Medical Officer at John Hunter Hospital and holds appointments at various other hospitals, including Newcastle Private Hospital.
Dr Meads obtained his medical degrees, MBCHB and BHB, from the University of Auckland before completing his orthopaedic surgical training in 1999. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, holding the qualification of FRACS (orth).
His primary focus lies in the treatment of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, including joint replacements of the fingers and wrist. Dr Meads is also experienced in managing complex wrist pathology such as TFCC tears and performs wrist arthroscopy. He is highly skilled in addressing Dupuytren's disease, carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, and other nerve-related problems affecting the hand and forearm. Additionally, Dr Meads is proficient in managing hand and wrist trauma, including fractures and lacerations.
In 2005, Dr Meads established the Hand Surgery Centre within the Newcastle Private Specialist Centre. Collaborating with the Hand Therapy Centre, his team of dedicated professionals strive to deliver the highest standard of care to patients with hand and wrist conditions.
