Wodonga is an Australian city situated on the Victorian side of its border, shared with New South Wales. Lying within the local government area of the City of Wodonga, the site is located 300 km northeast of the city of Melbourne.
Wodonga has a twin city Albury, separated by the Murray River, and together, they form an urban area. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Wodonga recorded a population of approximately 35,100 people in 2016.
The city is known to have a humid subtropical climate and gets an average of 125 clear days every year.

History of Wodonga Wodonga, along with its twin city Albury, was founded as a customs post, after which the town has developed radically. The first bridge across the Murray River was opened in 1860.
The first post office of Wodonga was opened on 1 June 1856, which was known by the name Belvoir until 26 July 1869. The city was initially named Wodonga and was later renamed Belvoir, which was again changed back to Wodonga.
